At Biohotel Bühelwirt, the following services are included in the room price:

Food & Drink

Each morning starts with breakfast featuring homemade and regional organic products sourced from the surrounding area. In the evening, a 4-course dinner is served with several choices per course, using predominantly local and seasonal ingredients — 100 % certified organic throughout. At least one vegetarian option is available at every course; vegan meals are prepared on request. Individual dietary intolerances are accommodated — please inform us at the time of booking.

Active

The Ahrntal valley is waiting to be explored directly from the hotel: many hikes start right at the front door. Comprehensive trail maps and hiking equipment are available on loan. In May and June, the ski lifts of Skiworld Ahrntal (Klausberg and Speikboden) are included in the room price.

Spa

The wellness area features a 12 m² panoramic sauna, a 65 m² relaxation room with mountain views, experience showers and direct access to the outdoor sun lawn. A tea bar with dried fruit, nuts and apples is available throughout the day. In-room amenities include Zero Waste Cubes by Team Dr. Joseph from Bruneck — bio-certified natural cosmetics, 0 % plastic. Also included: free entry to the Cron 4 swimming pool in Reischach and the natural bathing pond in Sand in Taufers (open mid-June to early September). Massages are available at an additional charge.

Yoga

The light-filled yoga room with mountain views is available for free use at any time. Equipment provided: mats, cork blocks, meditation cushions, yin bolsters, straps, wool blankets, eye pillows and a Marshall Music Box. Two complimentary yoga classes per week are included.

Kids

Younger guests are welcomed with a playroom on the 1st floor of the Stammhaus, featuring a toy kitchen, building blocks, a cosy corner and a mini slide, a dedicated children's menu, as well as high chairs, cots and bed guards available on request.

Südtirol Guest Pass

The digital Südtirol Guest Pass is included in the overnight price and covers free use of all public transport in South Tyrol — local buses, ski buses and regional trains — as well as discounted participation in the regional weekly programme and reductions at numerous local attractions.

Room prices at Biohotel Bühelwirt depend on room category, travel period and availability. As a general guide:

Stammhaus (traditional rooms): from € 105 per person per night with half board

New building (panoramic rooms and suites, designed by Pedevilla Architekten): from € 145 per person per night with half board

All prices include our extensive inclusive services — from the organic 4-course dinner and wellness area to the Südtirol Guest Pass.

Single rooms are available on request. A single room supplement of approximately 30 % applies.

Tip: the earlier you book, the better the price — our flexible pricing system adjusts with increasing occupancy. The most affordable periods are January, March and November.

Equipment & Services

Cots and bed guards are available free of charge — please let us know at the time of booking or before arrival so we can have everything ready. High chairs for the dining room are also available.

Dining

A dedicated children's menu with favourite dishes for our smallest guests is served at dinner — in addition to the regular 4-course adult menu.

Play

A cosy playroom on the 1st floor of the Stammhaus is available, featuring a toy kitchen, building blocks, a soft corner and a mini slide. Just a short walk from the hotel, the playground of the local kindergarten and primary school provides a great spot for a break after breakfast or before dinner.

Please note

We do not offer organised childcare or babysitting. Biohotel Bühelwirt is a peaceful organic hotel, particularly suited to families who want to explore nature together, go hiking and take time to unwind.

We use a flexible pricing system: the earlier you book, the better your room rate. Prices may slightly adjust as occupancy increases.

Tip for flexible travellers: the best-value months for your stay are January, March, and November. If you can travel during these times, you’ll benefit from our most attractive rates.

In May and June, the mountain lifts of Skiworld Ahrntal are included in the room rate, offering an excellent added value.

During the two central weeks of August and over New Year’s Eve, bookings are only possible for a minimum stay of one week.

For the rest of the year, we’re more flexible.

If your desired dates appear as not bookable online, please contact us directly – there’s often the perfect little gap that fits your plans!

Cancellations made up to 21 days before arrival are free of charge. The deposit of 30% of the total amount will be refunded.

If you cancel or partially cancel your stay 20 days or less before arrival, the deposit will be retained in full or in proportion by the accommodation.

In case of late arrival, early departure, or no-show, we charge 100% of the booked stay. Cancellation fees are calculated based on the total booking amount.

Unused services will not be refunded. Thank you for your understanding.

We recommend taking out travel insurance with Europäische Reiseversicherung, which can easily be booked directly on our website.

To confirm your booking, we kindly ask for a deposit of 30% of the total amount of your stay.

Your room will be ready from 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival.

Check-out on departure day is by 11:00 a.m.

If you expect to arrive after 7:00 p.m., please let us know in advance.

Should you arrive before 3:00 p.m., you’re welcome to relax in our bar area or on the sun terrace.

Please note that our kitchen team takes a lunch break, so no lunch service is available at that time.

A late check-out is possible at short notice and subject to availability for €30.00 per person, including use of the sauna area. This additional service cannot be reserved in advance.

Our car park is located directly in front of the hotel, and there are also public free parking spaces nearby. Please note that no covered parking is available.

For your electric vehicle, a hotel-owned charging station is available (for a fee).

No, pets of any kind are not permitted at Biohotel Bühelwirt — neither dogs nor other animals. This policy applies to all rooms and hotel areas.

Yes, a local tourist tax applies. It amounts to €2.90 per person per day (for guests aged 14 and over) and is added to your hotel bill.

Please note that all indoor areas of the hotel as well as the outdoor spa areas are non-smoking zones. We kindly ask you to use the hotel terrace in front of the bar area for smoking, rather than the room balcony whenever possible.

Our gift vouchers are generally valid for 1 year from the date of issue. If you have any questions about validity or special circumstances, please contact our reception — we are happy to find a flexible solution.

The digital South Tyrol Guest Pass includes free use of all public transport in South Tyrol on arrival: public buses, ski buses and regional trains. Please contact us if you are interested.

If you wish to come by rail, your destination is the Bruneck / Brunico train station. The north/south route continues via Innsbruck, Brenner, Bozen / Bolzano. Usually, you’ll have to take a connecting train in Franzensfeste / Fortezza. The east/west route will take you via Lienz, Innichen, Franzensfeste / Fortezza. Once you’ve reached Bruneck / Brunico, you can continue your journey by bus (Line 450 every quarter of an hour) or taxi.

Last mile distance

Bruneck to St. Jakob im Ahrntal (Wollbachgisse): Bus route 450 Duration approx. 50 minutes (every 15 minutes)

The hotel is situated on a hill, so you will have to walk about 10 minutes from the bus stop to the hotel.

When you arrive, you can call us and we will pick you up with your luggage from the bus stop (Wollbachgisse at San Giacomo).

The bus route for the Ahrntal is line 450 (Bruneck - Sand in Taufers - Ahrntal) and runs every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday and every half hour at weekends.

car is not absolutely necessary during your stay. Many hiking trails start directly from the hotel, and public transport connections are excellent.

The bus stops (on the main road) are just a short walk away, and buses run every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on the season.

For guests with limited mobility, we recommend arriving by car to ensure maximum flexibility and comfort.

With the digital South Tyrol Guest Pass, you can enjoy free use of all public transport throughout South Tyrol – including local buses, ski buses, and regional trains all year round.

We offer a total of 36 guest rooms: 20 panoramic rooms and suites in our modern extension, and 16 traditional rooms in the original main building.

The two buildings are connected internally and share the reception area, wellness area, and buffet spaces. Each section of the hotel has its own dining room.

Depending on availability, we may occasionally adjust table assignments for guests.

All included services apply equally to all room categories.

Yes, this is possible at any time – although we highly recommend trying our organic cuisine!

If you book bed and breakfast for your entire stay in advance, you’ll receive a reduction of €25.00 per person per day.

For maximum flexibility, guests who have booked bed and breakfast can add half board on a daily basis for €30.00 per person.

For organizational reasons, à la carte dining is not available.

A small fridge and/or a kettle can be provided in your room upon request.

There is no air conditioning in the hotel – instead, we rely on the natural freshness of the mountain air.

In the rooms of the modern extension, a continuous ventilation system ensures an optimal indoor climate.

For safety reasons, the large panoramic windows cannot be opened; please use the balcony door for ventilation when needed.

During the few hot periods of midsummer, we recommend keeping curtains and windows closed during the day and airing the room well in the early morning and evening.

For organizational reasons, we are unable to guarantee a specific room number or floor. However, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences whenever possible.

Whether you’re staying in the original main building or the modern extension, the included services are the same for all room categories.

Our restaurant is unfortunately not open to external guests. The exception is breakfast: you are welcome to join us for breakfast without an overnight stay — we simply ask that you reserve in advance at info@buehelwirt.com or by calling +39 0474 650309.

Our sauna area with relaxation room is available to you daily from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Yes, you will find a wellness bag with sauna towels and a bathrobe in your room.

For the sake of the environment, we kindly ask you to bring your own slippers.

If you don’t have any with you, you can purchase a pair of our eco-slippers on site for €5.00.

Massage appointments: book in advance for your perfect spa experience

To ensure the best possible scheduling and an unforgettable spa experience, we recommend booking your massages in advance. This allows us to accommodate your wishes in the best possible way.

Of course, spontaneous bookings are also possible, depending on availability. However, especially during high season or on weekends, it may be difficult to find an appointment at short notice.

We don't have a pool at Bühelwirt. However, we offer complimentary entry to three swimming facilities in the area — simply pick up your voucher at reception:

Cron 4 Swimming Centre, Reischach (approx. 40 min. by car)

The 'Acqua' area includes: a 25 m sports pool, fun pool with current channel and massage benches, activity pool (children's and course pool), baby pool, 75 m water slide, saltwater pool and a large sunbathing lawn. Please note: the sauna at Cron 4 is not included in the complimentary entry. Current opening hours on the Cron 4 website.

Natural Swimming Pond, Sand in Taufers (approx. 15 min. by car)

Open from mid-June to early September. Current opening hours on the website of the natural swimming pond.

Outdoor Pool Bruneck (approx. 30 min. by car)

Complimentary entry can be used as often as you like during your stay. Please note: entry is not included on the day of departure.

We don't have a fitness room, but our bright yoga room with mountain views is open to you at any time — perfect for stretching and relaxing.

We are happy to plan the most beautiful hiking routes and walks together with you, tailored to your individual needs. Benefit from our valuable hiking tips: many tours start right at the doorstep of the Bühelwirt.

Whether a leisurely walk, an easy hike, a breathtaking high-altitude trail, a challenging via ferrata, or an impressive glacier tour – in the Ahrntal, everyone can find their perfect activity!

We lend out hiking poles, backpacks and — in winter — sledges free of charge. Please ask at reception to borrow them, as quantities are limited.

Snowshoes and ski touring equipment are not available at the hotel, but can be hired at sports shops in the area. E-bikes are available at Hofer in Steinhaus, approx. 3 km away.

Although we do not offer guided hikes ourselves, we are happy to provide you with numerous tips and recommendations for unforgettable tours in the area. In addition, you can benefit from discounted participation in the diverse weekly program of the local tourism association.

All of our guests can use the Skiworld Ahrntal cable cars (uphill and downhill rides) free of charge in May and June.

Unfortunately, we do not have E-Bikes for rent on-site, but in the nearby village of Steinhaus, just about 3 km away, you can rent E-Bikes at Hofer.

The two ski areas Klausberg and Speikboden, together with the village lifts in Weißenbach and Rein in Taufers, form the Skiworld Ahrntal. A single ski pass allows you to explore over 74 km of slopes, while 21 lifts at altitudes from 950 to 2,510 meters take you up the mountain. Thanks to comprehensive snowmaking facilities, Skiworld Ahrntal guarantees 100% snow reliability.

About 30 km away is South Tyrol’s largest ski area – Kronplatz. With 116 km of slopes and 32 lifts, it offers endless fun on the pistes.

One of the most scenic ski tours is the famous Sellaronda. The ideal starting point is Corvara, around 60 km away. Complete the loop around the Sella Massif in one day and experience unforgettable moments.

Yes, the Ahrntal is an excellent region for cross-country skiing and offers a wide range of options for all levels of difficulty. It is known for its reliable snow conditions and well-prepared trails.

The trail in Kasern, at the end of the valley, is considered one of the most beautiful in the entire Alpine region and is probably the most famous in the area. With a length of around 10 km, it is fairly challenging. Conveniently, cross-country equipment can be rented directly on site.

In Rein in Taufers, at an altitude of 1,500 meters, you will find four different trails ranging from 3 to 15 km, offering various levels of difficulty. Equipment rental is also available here.

Our new yoga room offers plenty of space for regular retreats, personal practice sessions, or meditation. Our yoga equipment (mats, blocks, and meditation cushions) is ready for you.

We are bringing even more yoga into our house and now offer our guests two free yoga classes per week.
